My Approach

Catharine Munro
CPSP, BA (Hons I), MES, Dip SphComm, MSLP
My interest is in supporting children who have challenges communicating. These difficulties can often get in the way of connections with educators and relationships with others. They can lie behind difficult behaviours and leave parents, carers, friends and educators wondering why a person is falling short of expectations.

My goal is to build a person's confidence by working at the level a person needs. I currently do this work in private practice and place great value on parent involvement. I also work in school settings, with small group and individual intervention for complex/high needs students.
About Me
I am a certified practising speech pathologist (CPSP), registered with Speech Pathology Australia (SPA). I am therefore qualified to deliver Medicare-rebated services. I trained at Macquarie University and was awarded a Diploma in Speech and Communication (DipSphComm) and a Master of Speech and Language Pathology (MSLP).
I have a Master of English Studies from the University of Sydney. (That’s the MES). Prior to being a speech pathologist, I was a journalist at the Sydney Morning Herald and The Age and a foreign correspondent for Australian Associated Press. I have worked with language and writing professionally, as well as in literary and clinical ways.
It is a privilege to harness this long-held love of language to support children to communicate effectively.
I live in Bondi Junction with my husband and two children, as well as Rocky, our dog.
